⭐ How to Use the Speech and Language Activity Game in Therapy:
- Do a structured speech or language activity and then play the Name that Word game as the reinforcer sneaking in extra natural practice.
- Play the game throughout the session, but stop each round from having students practice their speech sounds or describe some of the named words.
- Take data while playing the game to see how students correctly produce their speech sounds during spontaneous communication.
- Have students describe the words with their speech sounds and then play minute to win it games to see who can guess the most words from clues
- Use the cards to work on beginning inferences by giving one clue, and students guess the word (Each card has four words)
- Adapt for naming more words in a category or answering noun-function questions
- Give points for building sentences with pictures that include an adjective
- Before playing the game, review how to handle problems when working with a team, how to congratulate a winner, and how to handle a loss
