Art History Doodle Notes Set of 18 Editable handouts with Powerpoint Visual Art

18 fully editable full page art history doodle notes handouts in .pdf and .pub file formats! Make learning art history interesting! Each full page doodle note sheet covers an art history movement, culture, or style. Each handout includes places for students to write time period, definitions, characteristics, sketches, and information learned from an accompanying video in the 209 slide powerpoint. I have also included a link to the Google slides that have been updated with over 280 slides and a lovely table of contents that lets you easily click to the art movement or culture necessary. There is also a fill in the blank or small activity for students to do on each handout, as well as areas to color in. Many articles and research have claimed coloring can help the brain retain information even better than just writing it down!

The powerpoint is editable and consists of 18 art movements detailed in chronological order from Prehistoric to Environmental art. The Google slides link can be easily copied by going to "File" and then "Make a copy". The slides have been updated from the original Powerpoint to include more in depth information and art analysis at the beginning of each art movement. Each art movement has at least 4 visual examples, information on time period, characteristics, key ideas, and several video links to make learning about art history fun. These handouts would be best suited for grades 7-12 or even higher learning. I typically teach one art movement each week and have students fill out the doodle notes as I present the slideshow and videos. How can I use these in my classroom?

• Do a weekly lesson on an art movement by presenting the Powerpoint slides and have students color in and write notes on the handouts
• Provide the handouts and have students independently research and investigate the art movement
• Review key information for art movements throughout history
• Test students on knowledge of art history-- you can allow students to use these Doodle notes on quizzes or tests
• Bell ringers!
• Include these handouts as part of a sketchbook. You can easily 3-hole punch these handouts double-sided and put inside of a simple file folder held together with brass brads (an example of this is provided in the images of this listing)
