What educators are saying
I used these with my fifth-grade class, and they were perfect! Exactly what I would have created myself if I had the time!
I used this resource to assist students in writing argumentative essays. Many students found it helpful for transitional phases and completing their essays.
Description
Argumentative Writing is a more structured and formal style of writing than what many students are used to. The Argumentative Transitional Phrases chart helps students address the various components with higher-level sentence starters. This is intended to be used as a reference sheet as students practice writing exercises in preparation for writing assessments. in my experience, it has proven helpful to students as a part of either their writing portfolio or an interactive notebook.
Suggestion: If possible, have and enlarged poster version of this chart available in the classroom to further reinforce its use.
