What educators are saying

My students really enjoyed this activity! It was more engaging than the standard lecture I've done in the past, and put the students in charge of their learning.
This stations bundle was very helpful in helping my students understand the various parts of writing and helped them make connections they hadn't before.

Description

This product is designed as a student-centered approach to learning the fundamentals of argumentative essay writing. Each station takes roughly 15-20min of class time. Students receive a skill workbook with six challenges - one for each station.

After completing all six challenges in their workbook, students will feel more confident in their ability to identify and create thesis statements, claims, counterclaims, and rebuttals. Students will also learn the basics of argumentative essay structure, so they feel prepared to write their own essays. The workbook can be saved in their binders as a permanent example or notes document.

Overall, this is the perfect way to give your students ownership of their learning. You could use this as an introduction to argumentative writing, as an assessment of their independent skills, or as a review for the end of the year!

Homeschool students may also find these workbooks challenging and rewarding. If you are a parent looking to find resources for teaching argumentative essay writing then this resource can absolutely be used as a skill progression system as they complete challenges in the workbook!
