Description

Are you searching for a step-by-step PowerPoint that can be used to introduce perimeter and area concepts to your students in a way that will grab their attention? You've come to the right place! Teach third and fourth-grade students about perimeter and area with this 56-slide PowerPoint. Topics include calculating perimeter and area, determining the length of unknown sides, composite figures, and word problems. Several practice opportunities are included. Use this PowerPoint over the course of multiple days.

PowerPoints filled with visuals are ideal for teaching new content to students because PowerPoints tend to be highly engaging and concepts can be easily broken down into understandable chunks of information. But let's face it... they are so time-consuming to create! Fortunately, now you have an option of using one that is already complete, kid-tested, and ready to go for you!

HERE'S THE SEQUENCE OF TOPICS COVERED IN THIS AREA & PERIMETER POWERPOINT:

Slides 1-5: Introduction to Perimeter

Slides 6-8: Identifying the Perimeter: Practice

Slides 9-11: Determining the Length of an Unknown Side, given the perimeter

Slides 12-15: Introduction to Area

Slides 16-21: Identifying the Area (using square units)

Slides 22-24: Connecting Areas of Rectangles with Arrays

Slides 25-29: Calculating the Area of Rectangles (A= L x W is introduced.)

Slides 30-31: Determining the Length of an Unknown Side, given the area of a rectangle

Slides 32-44: Determining the Area of Composite Figures

Slides 45-52: Practice Problems that Combine Area & Perimeter
