Area & Perimeter Project: You be the Architect!

Your students will love this project! You be the Architect requires students to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, area, perimeter, measurement, estimation, and scale drawing. It is a fun and informative way to assess students. The project requires students to use real-world skills; designing an imaginary apartment. Students must add flooring (area) and wall items such as molding (perimeter), add furniture, and work within a budget. I do this with my fourth graders every year, and they love it! I have even had multiple parents comment positively. Graphic organizers, price guides, and requirements are all included!
