Area - Fairground Task - Year 4 or 5 (open task)

Design your own fairground theme park!

This area and perimeter task will provide your children with an engaging activity where they will want to work out the area of each ride so they can place it in their own theme park.

The task sheet provides children with different styles of area questions, some need to be measured, others with given sides and then the option of irregular sizes which will require children to create compound shapes.

As an additional task, they can solve the perimeter of each of their rides.

I've completed this task multiple times with classes and every time they've been desperate to continue the task after the lesson.
