What educators are saying

I thought this was a great resource. I used this for Pink Shirt Day and had so really good discussions with my students based on the guide that this resource provided.

Description

Here is a moving short film to show and teach during "Anti-Bullying Week" & "Pink Shirt Day".

Animated short film, "Are you okay?" shows a relatable experience of two young adults being bullied online and in the real-world. The animated effect of a creepy purple goo offers a visual example of the emotions and experiences we can't always express in words.

The film is eerie and haunting, but not without a gesture of hope. Asking the simple question, "Are you okay?" has healing power: tell your students to never underestimate the importance of checking in with each other.

Video Organizer invites students to think deeply about:

-the insidious nature of bullying

-the dangers of online chats and texting

-how animation and drawing can help to access deep emotions

Includes detailed ANSWER KEY.

Film is available on YouTube. Length: 8 minutes.
