What teachers are saying about this resource:
- I used this before Christmas break with my combined 7th/8th grade Algebra class. They absolutely loved it! I even had my students who miss most assignments turn in this one. It was great fun and a perfect assignment for that rough time right before the holidays!
- Love the integration of math into the project and the realistic details with where the plot was and the measurements created!
- Really excited to use with my High Ability students!
- Loved how many different topics this project brought together. Unit conversions, unit costs, etc. Really made my students bring together everything we've been talking about in the area and surface area unit.
- Fantastic unit/assessment task involving "real world/life mathematics". Allows the student to construct a home applying perimeter, area, costing (to mention a few). It personalizes it for the students with a project brief and student reflection. The building application form and building requirements legitimizes the "real world" nature of this work for the students. This will sure be a winner for my students!
