Description

The perfect April Fools Day prank for a teacher to play on the class is here! Artificial intelligence has arrived to take over the school. With six word puzzles and cryptograms, they'll be focused and busy trying to save the school from an invasion of robot teachers!

The April Fools Day Escape Room Premise:

  • ► The students arrive at school to find out that all the teachers have vanished! An android is teaching their class!
  • ► To find out what happened to their teacher, students will:
  • ► Do a puzzle to find letters within words in a document.
  • ► Hunt for missing letters in a poem.
  • ► Follow a maze to find letters to the next clue.
  • ► Solve a cryptogram.
  • ► Follow directions closely to solve six puzzles
  • At the end, when they've decoded the four number lock, they'll find out they've been pranked!

The mission reading passage, My Teacher is a Robot! is an original informative text written by a teacher (me) about teachers disappearing from school and a robot taking their places. It's at a reading level for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.

This is a just for fun type of escape room activity. I know it's a challenge to find a new April Fools Day joke to play on your students. This one is totally new!

This is a no-prep printable PDF. Nothing to cut, glue, or put in envelopes.

  • Are you hoping it's a NO-PREP resource? Just print the student pages and six puzzles, share the mission, and you're set!

  • Are you hoping it's digital? Sorry, the April Fools Day Escape Room is strictly a PDF printable version.

  • Are you wondering if you can pull off an escape room in your class? No worries! I've included lesson plan instructions and a three page teacher guide. There's no envelopes, no hiding things around the room, and no extra work for you. It's as easy as printing out the student pages and letting them work on the challenges.

This practically NO-PREP resource is in printable PDF format. All your students need are pencils, and some crayons or colored pencils.
