What educators are saying

The discussion questions were so helpful. I used them throughout the unit rather than in Socratic Seminar format, which worked great with my class. Thank you for such a time-saving resource!

Description

Challenge your honors, IB or AP Literature students with this challenging unit based on Sophocles' classic tragedy Antigone, which is relevant now as it was 5,000 years ago. The lesson plans are detailed and make it easy to implement all of the aspects of the unit. Also included in this bundle are the following: the background to the play, the ideas and themes in it, discussion questions, Socratic Seminar rules and criteria, AP Literature prompts, and different rubrics for grading the Socratic Seminar and/or the essay you may assign. The unit starts with a guiding question that draws on the students' prior knowledge and engages them right off the bat.
