Anti Racism | Civil Rights Song

Description
This song will inspire your students to stand up for their beliefs. It's a great way to incorporate history into discussions of more recent events. It begins by talking about how Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King, Jr. "stood up" (or sat down) to make a difference. At the end of the song, I challenge children:
Your chance to make a difference in the world is here.
Stand up for your beliefs. Make your dreams clear.
Ask yourself, "What problems do I see?" Do you feel there is some inequality?
Stand up for what you believe in, even if you think you're the only one.
One person can make a difference in the world.
Don't give up on your dreams until you're done."
I hope this song makes a difference for you & your students!
Sincerely,
Jenny Kramer
