Description
Are your students researching and gathering sources online? In this editable minilesson, students will learn how to develop citations and annotations for an Annotated Bibliography! Begin with the notes that introduce the key terms, format, and purpose of a model Annotated Bibliography. Then, students will learn how to cite, summarize, and evaluate sources for their topic. Finally, students put their practice citations and annotations into an alphabetized list to create a practice annotated bibliography. An exit slip is provided that asks students to reflect on their learning to wrap up your lesson.
The practices in this resource include unscrambling citation/annotation parts, drag-and-drop activities, and scaffolded research with sample questions and sources. This resource is an extension to the beginner lesson: Citations & Works Cited Page Minilesson and is intended for grades 7-9, but can be modified as needed! *Please note that this minilesson focuses only on citing digital articles/websites.
