Includes vocabulary handout, about the author biography, vocabulary graphic organizer, poetry analysis, student response, repetition in the poem, portrait activity, and slides to set the mood for the poem. Also includes a copy of the poem. The poetry analysis requires students to look at the structure, figurative language, sound devices, and meter of the poem. The student response sheet asks deep critical thinking questions which are great discussion openers or essay writing prompts.
