What educators are saying

My students used this resource to complete their animal projects. I was able to use what fit the needs of my students and they enjoyed it!
We wanted to do a writing project and this was fabulous! I teach virtually and the students loved having something different for their projects.

Description

An informative research project on animals designed for implementation in the first grade classroom. It can be modified and used in kindergarten or second as well.

What's Included?:
-Common Core Aligned page 3
-Letter to Parents page 4 (Explains research project)
-Habitat Shoebox Worksheet page 5
-Appearance, Home, Food, Babies, Cool Facts, Informational Sheets pages 6-10
-Bubble Map page 11
-Words to Sentences page 12
-Research Paper Cover page 13
-Writing Paper pages 14-16

My students will be using the structure of my writing process to complete the research writing portion of this project. You can find how I set up my writing on my teaching blog http://chalkfullofideasinfirst.blogspot.com/2014/03/amazing-writing-workshop.html. I would also recommend completing this project as a whole class on one animal (to model), and then partnering students up to complete it on their own animal. Enjoy and Happy Teaching!
