What educators are saying

I used this for one of my stations for my culture of Medieval Japan activity and it was a huge hit. I then also used it for an early finisher activity during standardized testing and it was also terrific, so all around a super useful resource.
My students loved this activity. It was a great experience to see them engaged and practicing what they learned.

Description

This package contains 36 step by step instruction cards how to fold simple origami animals. It's amazing to see how easy it is for children (and adults!) to create animals from paper with a little help. All cards include easy steps. The animals in this package are:

bear, bee, bird, butterfly, cat (2x), cicada, cow, crab, dog, duck, elephant, fish (2x), fox (2x), frog, giraffe, hamster, koala, ladybug, monkey, panda, parrot, peacock, penguin, rabbit, rat, rhinoceros, sea bear, swan, tadpole, whale (3x), worm.

All animals can be made using a single piece of (square) paper. General tips:

- Don't use paper that is too small, this will frustrate the students. Any square sheet of paper equal to, or larger than, standard 6”x6” should do.

- For a better effect, consider using paper with different colors on each side (look for special origami paper), or just place two different colored pieces of paper on top of each other. The examples show a color combination suggestion.

- When the children are done folding, use a pen/pencil to add details like eyes etc. Of course you can also use stick on eyes or other decorations.

Have fun!
