What educators are saying

My students liked this project but I did find it to better fit my higher-level kids. I will use this again.

What are animal adaptations of the tundra? What about animal adaptations of the tropical rainforest? There are so many intriguing ways animals survive in different climates.

Students engage with structural and behavioral animal adaptations through stations with age appropriate reading passages and stunning photos. Let students talk with each other as they investigate these different types of animal adaptations.

What student doesn’t want to create their own animal with its own special abilities? In this project, they can!

Your students will use their new adaptations knowledge to create their own animal with research-based adaptations. Then, they have to defend whether or not it can survive in a climate like the tundra or the rainforest using their adaptations as examples!

These animal adaptations activities are perfect for middle school students by stretching them just far enough and really unlocking their creativity!
