The Ancient Maya were a deeply religious people. Religion permeated every aspect of their culture from beauty practices to ball games. In fact religion was synonymous with pain and blood—the more the better. Even there ball games resulted in pain, blood, and death.

This presentation, geared towards middle school students, explores Mayan beliefs and cultural practices. Built into the lesson are:
