Description

The first Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet –Aleph -it´s meaning, picture, with poetry and root words that go with it!

This can also be used for Ancient History and Civilizations, Mesopotamia, Multi-Cultural Day, International Day, Foreign Language, with a Farm Unit, Mother´s Day, Father´s Day, Intro to Archaeology, or just a fun unit study!


A Super Fun way to learn about the Ancient World! You will learn ancient Hebrew root words, understand the ancient world better through the use of their alphabet, poetry, and pictures! This is just a simple beginning intended to spark the curiosity of ancient History - Everyone will learn something new!


Objective: To introduce the Ancient Hebrew Alphabet, Civilizations, Root Words, and Acrostic Poetry while reinforcing important core subjects.

Grade Level: This is a Common Core Aligned and a multi-age thematic unit study. It can be simplified to be used for beginners at any age or the difficulty increased to challenge more advanced learners this Unit is for all ages! It is common core aligned for k – 6th grade, it can be used for higher grades also...

Learning Contents: This can be used for learning ancient Hebrew Civilizations , Hebrew Root Words, modern Hebrew, history of the modern alphabet, and the history and; types of acrostic and rhyming poems.

Common Core Alignment: All Pages are referenced and generally Indexed for the Common Core Standards for K – 6th grade.

What this unit teaches: It teaches the Hebrew letter and number name, recognition, and meaning. It also teaches Hebrew Root Words, Word Pictures, and Ancient Hebrew Culture. History of the evolution of our modern alphabet from ancient Hebrew to Latin is also taught through a flap book. The history and types of acrostic poetry are taught with visual examples and practice. There is an introduction to rhyming poetry and rhyming words as well as a science activity on the history of glue and adhesives. Reinforcement of English writing and spelling is done through mazes, word searches, crossword puzzles, word scrambles, matching, rhyming worksheets, and crafts.
