Description
Are you going to teach an awesome ancient Egyptian unit and you need to decorate your classroom? Do you want to make your classroom an immersive Egyptology environment to create a memorable experience for your students? Use this Egyptian Classroom Decoration Bundle to kick off your pharaonic classroom in style!
The Egyptian Classroom Decoration Bundle includes “Write Your Name in Hieroglyphs,” which includes a drawing of a hieroglyph and the phonetic sound it makes. This download includes 26 colored illustrations and 26 black and white pictures. This hieroglyphic alphabet is based on Sir Alan Gardiner’s phonetic translation of Middle Egyptian. A few changes were made to make the alphabet clearer for modern English phonetic translations. There are 56 pages with this PDF file.
“Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs Cartouche Worksheet” is also included because it compliments the Hieroglyphic bulletin board printouts. This handout sheet is a one page PDF. There are two cartouches for students to practice writing their first and last names. In ancient Egyptian times, the pharaohs wrote their names in a shape called a cartouche. The ancient Egyptian word for cartouche is shenu, which means to encircle.
This bundle also includes two Community Coloring Pages. The Rishi Coffin of Lady Rini Sarcophagus includes thirty-two rectangles total for this cooperative grid project. The PDF includes 37 pages. After assembling this collaboration poster, the final size of the sarcophagus poster will be 72 x 24”. The other group coloring project is the Sphinx of Hatshepsut. The final size of the sphinx poster will be 42 x 27”. This PDF has 26 pages. Both of these pharaonic reproduction posters are great for a bulletin board display, hallway decoration, or an art history exhibit. These large coloring activities are also easy to leave with a substitute because the only preparation necessary is print all the pages and set out the art supplies, but they’re so fun you’ll probably want to use them for your own lessons. Use these coloring activities for a memorable project about Egyptology, archaeology, or women’s history.
