This official Amoeba Sisters video companion is designed to help students interact with the Amoeba Sisters Mega Genetics Review video. This resource provides an opportunity to work through the example problems from the video. Then, this resource provides a related problem that they solve on their own for each type of genetics topic reviewed (one-trait crosses/monohybrids, two-trait crosses/dihybrids, incomplete dominance, codominance, blood type, sex-linked traits, and pedigrees).

What are the terms of use for this product?
This product is licensed to you, the purchaser, to use with all students that you directly teach for as long as you may wish. You may print the resource for the students that you teach. This can also be used electronically as well---provided it is only accessible to the students that you teach and not publicly available---i.e. it needs to be behind a password protected website, LMS, Google Classroom, etc. so that is not available publicly.

If I am going to print the video companion and make copies for my students, what would you suggest?
We highly suggest printing and copying front→ back. To further conserve paper, you can choose to avoid printing the first introductory page of the video companion (page 1, which has some reminders for students and asks for defining some vocabulary) and instead go over those together. Then you can print pages 2-7, which could be copied as 3 pages total if printing front and back.

Can I use this online? If so, what do you suggest?
If using online, please remember our terms of use as they cannot be publicly available - meaning it should be a link only available to your students or behind a password protected LMS, or in a Google Classroom with a code (only available to your students).

We offer two formats for this: a PDF and a flattened, non-editable PowerPoint file of our video companion.

For the PDF file, there are many tools that work with editing digitally on a PDF that you may wish to use. We do have a link on the "read me" page in the file to learn more.

The flattened, non-editable PowerPoint file of our video companion that is included has been optimized be used in Google Slides (or other programs that accept PowerPoint files). To do that, open your Google Drive. Click “New” at top left. Click “File Upload.” Select our PowerPoint file and let it upload. When it is done, double click on it in your Google Drive. If the settings on your Google Drive aren’t set to automatically convert PowerPoint files into Google Slides, you can click “open with” at the top and select “Slides” to convert it to Google Slides. Students will be able to write on the slides (but not edit the original text). To draw on a Google Slide, students can go to “Insert” (at top), “Line,” and then select “Scribble.”

Pricing:
Our pricing is based on many factors: images we may have made for the resource (as we illustrate all of our own images), how many we had to edit/make transparent for the resource, how long the handout and key took to create and check, etc. We use the funds to help support the creation of all of our free Amoeba Sisters videos, and we appreciate you for your support!
