This little beginning reader is set up so that when it is copied, it can be stapled on your copy machine (choose double staple) and then cut easily into several books at a time on a paper cutter.
Pick this up for any time you want to impress your youngsters with patriotism, which I feel has been greatly diminished in our country. It would be great for social studies, for President's Day, Memorial Day, etc.
Another thought is this: If you have students from other countries in your classroom like I do, you might discover they are unaware of these symbols because it has not been part of their culture. I'm going to use this reader for my ELLs is first grade and also for third and fourth grade ELL students who are at a level B-C.
