Description

This fully editable, fully digital resource is designed to serve as a suggested pacing guide for an entire, full-year curriculum for an American Literature course.

With each time period through the growth of American Literature, you will find links to ready-to-go resources that I’ve created and sell, although I’m offering this guide completely free.  Whether you select my materials or not, this guide can help you make your own text selections and curriculum map for teaching a diverse set of texts for American Literature.

The units are organized by time period. There is a mix of fiction, nonfiction, informational texts, and poetry.  Throughout the course of these units, students will read, write, create, present, and most of all learn and grow.  The pacing map I’ve designed will provide the rigor and relevance you need with as much engaging and energizing elements that your teens will enjoy as well.

The pacing is based on a traditional time schedule; however, since it is completely editable, you can make changes as needed for other schedules.

Download the file to receive a "force copy" link that will will guide you to storing the map right in your own Google Drive.

Find my entire American Literature Curriculum with ready-to-go resources here.

If you also teach British Literature, I have a free curriculum map for that course as well.
