Alphastrokes Font Set with Flashcards Bundle

This bundle contains both Alphastrokes fonts:

1. Alphastrokes tracing font with starting positions and stroke arrows
2. Alphastrokes tracing font with starting positions

The Alphastrokes font family works nicely together in that once students have learned the correct stroke sequences by practicing with the font with stroke arrows (font 1), teachers may then use the font with only starting positions (font 2) in order for students to practice writing without the guiding arrows.

The Alphastrokes font is a TrueType font that assists young learners in printing the letters of the English alphabet correctly and efficiently.  It provides lines containing dotted letters for students to trace with the starting position and stroke directions illustrated for each letter, number, and punctuation mark.  The Alphastrokes font has been carefully developed to provide an intuitive, practical introduction to writing the English alphabet.

The Alphastrokes font uses extended stroke direction arrows to discourage students from lifting their pencils between strokes unnecessarily so that students do not form ball-and-stick letters. Learning correct stroke sequences improves penmanship and prepares students to learn cursive writing.

Many students never learn correct penmanship because stroke sequences are seldom emphasized in the classroom during formative years. Then in later grades it is very difficult for teachers to correct poor writing habits that are already well encoded into students' procedural memory. This bundle also contains the Alphastrokes flashcards with stroke arrows to help students learn letter formation and correct stroke sequences.
