These poem cards were designed to teach alliteration poems. Alliteration poems are poems where a consonant sound is repeated e.g. ‘Silly Sam slipped on something sloppy.’

Included in this resource are 40 short alliteration poem cards. On 20 of the poems, the consonant sound that is being repeated is highlighted to reinforce the features and structure of alliteration poems.

Also included is 6 large cards with alliteration tongue twisters. These poems are a great reading challenge for students.

Each of the cards include a picture that is relevant to the text to assist students with decoding and to create some context.
