What educators are saying

Fun activity for my students to practice alliteration. They were engaged in the activity, and it was easy to integrate.
This was a fun activity! I projected the pictures on the whiteboard so that they could see the details better. We played it as suggested as a contest, seeing who could come up with the most original alliterations. They enjoyed the creativity!

Description

This fun alliteration photo hunt helps middle school students become more aware of alliteration and how to use it in their own descriptive writing.

Literary devices make students’ writing crisp, clear, and captivating – and alliteration is one of the simplest but most often overlooked devices of them all. This fun game gives students the opportunity to find examples of alliteration in a variety of random photo collages. Students are pushed to find as many examples as possible, and when time runs out, they must compare answers and receive scores only for examples not found by their peers. This activity promotes originality of thought as students stretch their brains to think of alliteration examples not immediately obvious to their fellow classmates.

This resource includes the following:

✅ Teacher’s Instructions

✅ 4 Photo Collage Game Sheets with Student Instructions

I hope your students have a blast with this activity as they learn to use alliteration effectively!

I. Love. This. Resource. My kids had a blast with this, and what was interesting was the kids who I thought would find this hard really did well with it. This is a great tool to have as a teacher! –Dani T. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have used this the last two years, and our students love it. To make it more challenging we simply shorten the time. It's really cool to watch them enjoy doing the work. –ClassWithBlack ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is now one of my go-to review activities! The kids and I loved it :) –Pamela F. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
