What educators are saying

We are putting on this play in the spring and love the narration from this version. We also loved the certificates!!

Description

If you are a fan of outrageous costumes and modern dance music inspired by Alice in Wonderland… then this is the show for you! This performance package can be used by an elementary classroom teacher, a music teacher, a summer camp coordinator, or a drama program instructor.

This performance utilizes many modern dance tunes inspired by the 2010 movie remake. Lewis Carroll’s story is narrated in a simplified script suitable to be performed by elementary or middle school students. There is no character dialogue.

The show starts with a dance titled “Follow Me Down” which I recommend to be performed by the entire cast. Then each wildly dressed group performs a dance of their own as the story is told. For the finale the cast comes together once again for a song titled “Wake Me Up”.

This show could be performed by anywhere from 35 to 100+ students depending on stage size.
The length of the performance is approximately 40 minutes. I use a combination of pre-recorded audio and live performance. However, the “11 audio clips” could easily be performed live!

This show was originally performed by 80 students in my drama program (K through 8th). I divided them into 7 class groups of approximately 12 students. However this show could easily be performed by less or more students depending on your class/classes and your stage.

Some grouping options are:
-One class (35 students) split into 7 cast groups
-Seven classes each taking a cast group
-14 classes with two classes in each cast group

-4-6 classes – leave some the dance performances out or have one class change costumes and perform two dances!

Cast Groups:

1. Bottles and Cakes

2. Mushrooms

3. Baby Pigs

4. Tea Cups

5. Flamingos and Hedgehogs

6. Wonderland Main Characters

7. Playing Card Soldiers

This product contains the entire script, song and dance music recommendations and links, printable participation certificates, various tools for organization and posting, ideas for costumes, show management, props and stage décor!!!
