What educators are saying

I believe my students benefitted from getting the extra practice writing algebraic proofs before moving on to geometric ones. I like that there are fractions involved as opposed to just integers, to keep those skills fresh.
The beginning of proof is difficult for students and having them do so with algebra is an essential first step. I love having a pre-made worksheet that I can just give to kids. A key is included and it saved me so much time!

Description

Algebraic Proofs Practice Worksheets (Classwork and Homework Assignments):

This set of classwork and homework assignments will help your students practice solving algebraic proofs. These practice worksheets include 2 different versions of a 2-page classwork assignment and 2 different versions of a 2-page homework assignment, for a total of 8 pages of practice!

The practice worksheets include proofs where students have to fill in only the reasons, proofs where students have to fill in a mixture of statements and reasons, and proofs where students have to fill in the entire proof.

This set of practice worksheets comes with 8 pages of proofs practice (2 classwork assignments and 2 homework assignments), answer keys, and a PowerPoint file containing pictures of the worksheets. The worksheets in the PowerPoint are NOT editable. When you purchase this set of practice worksheets, you will receive a pdf containing the worksheets and answer keys, and you will receive a PowerPoint file. Before purchasing this product, look closely at the preview file to see a sample of the types of proofs that students must answer.

Differentiation:

Version A is the more challenging version of both assignments. Version A requires students to be able to distribute a fraction when the fraction is outside of the parentheses. Version A also requires students to solve equations when one or both sides of the equation are fractions. Students also have to be able to combine like terms and use the distributive property on one or both sides of the equation.

Version B is the less challenging version of both assignments. Version B contains very few fractions. Version B requires students to be able to combine like terms and use the distributive property on one or both sides of the equation.
