What educators are saying
This is a great resource! My students enjoyed the one activity we have completed in it, and I look forward to doing others!
My students had a great time working on these! I used this one and another one for my Geo kids and they have fun figuring out who did it! It is a great way to break up the week, especially right before break.

These activities are ideal for end-of-the-unit or end-of-the-year exam review for each of the major units covered in first-year algebra: *solving linear equations
*solving linear inequalities
*solving equations and inequalities
*graphing linear functions
*systems of linear equations
*exponents and exponential functions
*polynomials
*quadratics and parabolas
*final exam review
It will get your students out of their seats and working cooperatively in small groups. They will use their knowledge of manipulating exponents in order to solve problems. Every correct answer helps eliminate suspects, locations, or “weapons”– just like the popular board game.
This is one of my favorite activities to do as a review & as a way to deepen students’ understanding of concepts that they learned in a unit. This activity is one that the students actually enjoy. If I put the same questions on a worksheet, I might hear groaning. Instead, they see this as a game, and they work hard to solve the mystery.
All you have to do is post the questions around the room, assign students to groups, & give them their answer sheets. The next thing you know, you have a classroom full of actively engaged students who are working together to solve problems. Sound too good to be true? Try it, and you will become a believer, too!
