What educators are saying

Instead of using this as an end of year assessment, I used it as a beginning of the year review for my Algebra 3 (dual-credit College Algebra) course. It was a great way for them to review what they learned in Alg. 2 and be ready to start fresh in Alg. 3.

    Description

Since Algebra 2 Curriculum differs between schools I have created 2 versions of an End Of Year, EOC Review. This bundle includes both versions. Topics for each are listed below.

    PART 1 TOPICS INCLUDE:

    • Polynomial expressions • Rational expressions • Linear Equations • Linear equations and their graphs • Linear and Absolute inequalities and their graphs • Graphing and solving systems of simultaneous linear equations • Quadratic Equations and Inequalities• Factors and factoring of quadratic polynomials with integer coefficients • Completing the square in quadratic expressions • Quadratic formula and factoring of general quadratic polynomials • Using the quadratic formula to solve equations • Symmetry • Complex Numbers • Basic Matrices • Exponential Functions • Circles• Composite Functions • Logarithmic Functions • Piecewise Defined Functions • Compound Interest • Linear Simultaneous Equations • Non-Linear Simultaneous Equations •

    PART 2 TOPICS INCLUDE:

    • Conics: Circles, Ellipses, Hyperbolas, Parabolas • Identifying Conic Sections written in General Form • Solving Non-Linear Systems including conics • Special Right Triangles • Trigonometric Functions (sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, cot) • Right Triangle: Finding Side and Angle Measures • Applications: Angle of Elevation and Depression • Converting between Degrees and Radians • Reference Angles and Coterminal Angles • Trigonometric Functions in the Coordinate Plane • The Unit Circle • Law of Sines • Law of Cosines • Area of Triangles • Applications • Graphing and Properties of Trigonometric Functions • Trigonometric Identities • Solving Trigonometric Equations • Sum and Difference of Angle Identities • Double-Angle and Half-Angle Identities • The Fundamental Counting Principle • Permutations and Combinations • Theoretical Probability • Probability of Independent and Dependent Events • Conditional Probability • The Binomial Theorem • Mean, Median, Mode, Range • Measures of Variation: Standard Deviation, and Variance • Normal Distribution and The Empirical Rule • z-Scores • Standard Normal Distribution • Probability under the Normal Distribution Curve • Arithmetic Sequences and Series • Geometric Sequence and Series •

Both Part 1 and Part 2 include 5 versions of a "test" in both multiple choice and free response formats. Each assessment or review should take about 2 hours and is meant to be used with a graphing calculator. These resources also makes a great SAT/ACT review. Use the tests in their entirety or page by page. They also work extremely well in a Sub Folder, as a Warm-up or Exit Slip test bank, and work quite well to save you time with

Daily Quiz ToolKit™, Templates for Quizzes, Warmups, Bell Ringers, Exit Slips

Answer Keys included. Note: The pdf is editable with Adobe Acrobat.

Use units as a way to understand problems and to guide the solution of multi-step problems; choose and interpret units consistently in formulas; choose and interpret the scale and the origin in graphs and data displays.
Use matrices to represent and manipulate data, e.g., to represent payoffs or incidence relationships in a network.
Multiply matrices by scalars to produce new matrices, e.g., as when all of the payoffs in a game are doubled.
Add, subtract, and multiply matrices of appropriate dimensions.
Understand that, unlike multiplication of numbers, matrix multiplication for square matrices is not a commutative operation, but still satisfies the associative and distributive properties.
