What educators are saying

I have loved using this resource with my 6th grade students. It is nice to pick and choose between all or some of the documents. They have enjoyed reading each of them.
My students really enjoyed working with these documents. I combined them with others, and they created an evidence board to determine if Alexander the Great was Good. The then wrote a paragraph, creating a claim, giving evidence, and analyzing it.

Description

In this engaging Alexander the Great DBQ Investigation, students analyze the life and times of Alexander the Great to understand the two sides to his historic legacy. Students begin by examining song lyrics of a popular song to understand Alexander the Great's role in history, then engage in a five-document activity, including a map analysis and primary sources, to learn both sides of his legacy. Students record thoughts and answers on an analysis document, complete a graphic organizer assignment to compile evidence, then showcase their findings in an overarching prompt.
