Aleph Bet/ Aleph Beis Hebrew "Spin, Say, Keep" Game (Winter version 1)

Whether you call it aleph bet, alef bet, or aleph beis, Sephardic and Ashkenazi students learn rapidly with this activity. It's engaging, effective, and fun!!

Hebrew is easy to learn when it is fun. Students identify Hebrew letters when they play this fun game meant for pairs or small groups.‎

BENEFITS

If you tell a child to read Hebrew to you and they might start avoidance behaviors like putting their head down, or they might start getting anxious. But tell a child you want to play Spin, Say, Keep with them, and they will be focused and engaged (while practicing Hebrew).

DIRECTIONS

Each student places Hebrew flashcards on their game mat (face down) and takes turns identifying the letter on the other side when it is their turn. When correct, students remove the card from their game mat and keep it in a pile. The first student who clears their game mat of all the flashcards wins! Students will have so much fun, they won't even realize that they're learning!

I have included both a colored version (for bigger budgets) and black and white reproducible version that students can color themselves; make sure you use card stock so they can't see the letters through the paper. The game mat and flashcards are cute with a winter theme.

I designed the game to be used by foreign language teachers, Hebrew Day School teachers, Hebrew School teachers, prekindergarten teachers, and those who home school.
