Description

The geography of Greece is rugged and isolating. Mountains made travel on land slow and difficult, so the Greeks took to the seas as the best way to connect with their far-flung neighbors and established a robust trade network. Maritime trade allowed the Greek city-states to spread their goods, ideas, and eventually their spread their culture across the Mediterranean. This simulation game illustrates for students the importance of trade to the ancient Greek. During the game, students will engage in trade while avoiding maritime hazards. The city-state that diversifies their economy the best and brings the most happiness to their students will win. Following the game, the students will reflect and connect the activity to the content. This is a fun, action-based game for both indoor and outdoor settings that your students will love.
