This acid, base, and pH scale lesson includes:
- Teacher instructions and access to Google Slide link for the digital component of this lesson, which can be easily distributed through your learning management system such as Google Classroom or Schoology

- What exactly are acids and bases? This 7-page science packet will be used with students to understand what acids and bases are, how to identify them, and why they are important. Comprehension questions are included with all packets to ensure understanding.
- The second packet contains 3 pages of science text and will allow students to read and comprehend what indicators are and why they are useful to acids and bases.
- Finally, students will learn about the pH scale through visuals and reading the science text. They will be able to summarize what the pH scale is used for and the substances found on it.

- I have used this resource in my Hybrid Y8 Science, Chemistry unit. We do not use textbooks in our lessons, and often I struggle to find material to meet all the scientific information I would like my students to learn. The text was easy and clear, yet detailed and complete, very nice layout and good understanding assessment activity at the end. At the end, I asked the students to also make a mind map for Acids and one for Bases, and they loved it, as the info was very easily plucked from the text.
