Used this with my 9th grade. Split them into three groups and had each group complete a different religion. They were engaged and found the information useful.
Such a succinct way to introduce students to Abrahamic religions. My students found this easy to understand and were able to answer the questions while referencing the text.

Teach religions in the context of the time with this CCSS Aligned Unit! This unit emphasizes both the story behind the religions and the major beliefs. This unit also shows the unique role Jerusalem plays in the beliefs of each of these religions. Along the way, students will be exposed to critical vocabulary pertaining to the individual religions and the religions as a whole. Students will be able to document their knowledge through notebook friendly worksheets and graphic organizer. You will be able to quiz their knowledge through short quizzes designed to hit the major ideas of each religion!

1. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.6-8.2 Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source; provide an accurate summary of the source distinct from prior knowledge or opinions.

2. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.6-8.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including vocabulary specific to domains related to history/social studies.
