This resource will be your go-to AVID note-taking template for vocabulary in reading, math, science, and social studies. The first column can be used for the new vocabulary word, in the second column students can record the definition, and the final column is great for students to draw a picture of what the word means to them.
This template for Three-column AVID Cornell notes is versatile. There are four different editable templates to meet your elementary classroom needs. Customize the AVID notes template by adding your school logo, classroom name, or clipart to identify the subjects or topics your students are learning about. Your elementary student's AVID notes will be transformed into an organized tool they will use and love!
On two of the AVID notes templates, you will find checklist circles for reviewing notes, the 10-24-7. Students can check off the 10 after reviewing their notes 10 minutes after the lesson. Students then check off the 24 after reviewing their notes 24 hours after the lesson. Finally, students will check off the 7 after reviewing their notes 7 days after the lesson. This AVID note-taking procedure, 10-24-7, has shown the highest rates of retention. Your elementary students will become successful note-takers in no time.
