Description

This is a generic Google Slides worksheet that can be used to evaluate any film on Deaf Culture. We love to use this with films such as And Your Name is Jonah, Deaf in the Holocaust, Bird of a Different Feather, For a Decent Living, Sweet Nothing in My Ear, Love is Never Silent, etc …

The purpose of these questions is to move beyond simple comprehension fact-based questions into higher DOK questions about Deaf Culture.

The target ASL student for this assignment should have prior knowledge about Deaf Culture and ASL. Before showing your film of choice, introduce students to Deaf culture values, perspectives on Deafness, Deaf talent, and language deprivation. This is perfect for the High School or College/University level.
