    Description

HERE'S A BUNDLE OF ART HISTORY RESOURCES- A COLLECTION OF DIGITAL CHALLENGES ABOUT ART MOVEMENTS!

Teach Art History with these interactive Art Movement digital challenge activities...

USE THESE Digital Activities for Teaching Art History, Art Appreciation or even Literacy Comprehension Skill Practice

ART Movements in this BUNDLE Include:

    • Rococo Art
    • Baroque Art
    • (I'll be adding more as I upload to my store!)

Build students' Art Appreciation and observational skills as they learn ART HISTORY facts while completing these fun and engaging digital activities- based on informational reading passages about Art Periods.

A MYSTERY WORD IS REVEALED TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE!

Students will be exposed to information on common themes on the Art Topic, which increases their visual comprehension skills and enhances their art interpretation capabilities.

HOW DO STUDENTS FIND THE MYSTERY WORD?

During each DIGITAL CHALLENGE ACTIVITY for Google Sheets™, students will familiarize themselves with the reading passage based on the given ART TOPIC information.

Next, the student searches within the reading passage for answers to questions based on its content.

The student then types their answers in the (self-checking) boxes, which unscramble an image with a secret code to decipher the mystery word.

The mystery word is then translated by finding a letter that corresponds with each number.

    and VOILA!

Once they've found the MYSTERY WORD, they've completed the challenge!

BUT MY STUDENTS DON'T HAVE GOOGLE CLASSROOM!

... If your students don't have individual digital access, this activity may alternatively be used "whole class" style, by working as a class to complete the challenge:

    • Display the Activity
    • Print out the Reading Passage page
    • Distribute it to your ART HISTORY students
    • Choose students to take turns going up to the board to answer questions.

    -Topics-

    • Definition of Art Movement
    • Origin of Art Movement
    • Common Features of Art Movement
    • Common Subjects within Art Movement

    -Activity Summary-

Here are the exact steps used for each activity:

    1. The student first reads an informational passage based on the given art topic.
    2. Then, the student searches within the reading passage to answer corresponding questions.
    3. The student types each answer into its answer box. The box will automatically change color to GREEN once correct.
    4. As the student types their correct answers, the DECODER image unscrambles to reveal the letters that match with the numbers given in the SECRET CODE.
    5. Lastly, the student uses the decoded SECRET CODE letters to spell out the MYSTERY WORD.
    6. Once the MYSTERY WORD is correctly typed into the appropriate box, the box automatically changes color to show they’ve completed the challenge.
