What educators are saying

My APUSH students were wanting extra practice with SAQs and this was the perfect resource to get them that practice
I love working through these as progress checks with my students, knowing an answer off the top of their head is how they test themselves to know if they have mastered a standard

Description

APUSH - Period 1-9 - Short Answer Questions Full Year Test Bank

AP U.S. History Teachers - Have you found it difficult to find quality short answer questions for all of the learning objectives in the APUSH Course Exam and Description (CED) Binder? Do you wish you had a different SAQ for each objective for standards based grading? Do you want each of your class periods to have a different SAQ and also have extra for retakes? This product is for you!

This test bank includes 163 short answer questions (with answer keys) that align to the learning objectives and key concepts in the 2019 APUSH CED Binder . Some learning objectives have multiple SAQs. This will allow you to select the best SAQ that aligns with your instructional practices. Each question is written in the same format as the SAQs that appear on the annual APUSH exam. I am very picky about SAQs and have found that most of the ones published in textbooks and review books have major flaws - they are poorly written and do not closely align to the latest APUSH exam updates. Over the last year, I have worked on updating all of the SAQs I use in my course and ensuring that they rise to the same level as the questions that appear on the AP exam.

The SAQ questions in this set were written, edited or curated by me personally. I have taught the APUSH course since 2009 and have used nearly all of them in my classroom. I have participated in the annual AP reading since 2013 and have graded DBQs, LEQs and SAQs at the reading. Additionally, I have served as an AP mentor for the College Board and helped to mentor new teachers through the course.

This set includes:

  • Instructional Overview with SAQ tips from an AP Reader
  • Analyzing Secondary Sources (“Dueling Sources”) Prompt
  • Comparison Prompts
  • Causation Prompts
  • Analysis of Primary Source Stimulus Prompts
  • Analysis of Visual Stimulus (Chart, Graph, Map) Prompts
  • SAQ Test Template and Blank SAQ Writing Paper (same formatting and size as the AP exam SAQs)

Versions included:

Google Docs (editable)
