MORE ABOUT THE UNIT-LONG PROJECT:
My students enjoy this project as a change from the usual structure of class. You can assign each page separately like day-to-day activities or have students complete it as one big project. I do suggest having due dates & stamping for completion along the way to avoid massive procrastination!
I assign this as the Summative for the unit (instead of a multiple choice exam) and do not require Learning Targets as they are already writing a lot. An exam & LTs are included though.
What I like about this project is students have to really think about the topics vs. just memorizing. They have to apply the events to different perspectives. They ask great questions and have really good discussions during this project!
This unit also allows me flexibility to conference individually with students who are struggling or hold DBQ retakes IN CLASS since the work is so self-directed once it's rolled out.
For Homework, check out the AMSCO Reading Guides.
I also have a DBQ Tool Kit to further support student writing development & a pack of 16 original DBQs to help you provide ample practice opportunities for your students beyond the released College Board DBQs that are all over the internet.
Please let me know if you have questions. You can email me at yeoldeushistoryshoppe@gmail.com and I am happy to help.
