APA formatting is one of the most difficult citation formats that students need to learn. This two page handout will guide your students with correctly formatting their parenthetical citations in APA format in the 5 most basic situations that could arise.
Direct quotes from current nonfiction texts are used as examples under each of the basic situations that may arise including:
*Stating the authors name in the sentence starter
*Stating the authors name in the parenthetical citation
*Two authors of the same resource
*No author listed
*Government agency or organization is listed as the author
As a bonus, students are given 8 examples of possible sentence starters for their direct quote.
Print this back to back on brightly colored paper or cardstock for your students to use as a resource throughout the school year!
