AP Statistics Designing Studies - Sampling, Observational Study, and Experiment
- PPTX
Description
Hello,
I created this teaching material to organize key ideas of designing studies with statistical terminologies. While teaching statistics to students, I realized that many students find statistics course challenging and one of the reasons for that is because they struggle to see overall ideas of topics. In this powerpoint presentation, the overall ideas of designing studies are organized and definitions of key ideas and vocabulary are linked so that they can be seen if you click the words. In this way, key words can be learned while sticking with the whole picture of the topic. This product can be useful to teachers who want to both introduce and review the topic as well as homeschooling parents and students.
The key words included are:
- Population
- Sample
- Inference
- Census
- Statistically significant
- Confounding
- Random sampling
- Simple Random Sample (SRS)
- Stratified random sample
- Cluster sample
- Table of random digit
- Voluntary response sample
- Convenience sample
- Bias
- Undercoverage
- Nonresponse
- Response bias
- Wording of question
- Observational study
- Experiment
- Completely randomized design
- Randomized block design
- Matched pair design
- Experimental units
- Subjects
- Independent variable
- Dependent variable
- Control group
- Placebo
- Placebo effect
- Double-blind experiment
I hope you find it useful!
Thank you.
