AP Music Theory Unit 1 Test Pack

Based on the *NEW* 2019 AP Music Theory curriculum revisions released by the College Board. The new curriculum revisions will make teaching the course easier, and this test pack will make aligning your teaching to the new curriculum recommendations easier!

Unit 1 skill set:

- Note reading in four clefs

- Enharmonic pitches

- Rhythm reading and rhythmic devices

- Meter classicification

- Terms for tempo and articulations

- Whole steps and half steps

- Major scales and key signatures

This test pack is broken into Part A ( 5 pages / 15 questions based on aural stimuli) and Part B (8 pages / 35 questions based on written stimuli). Each part can function as a standalone test or be combined for a cumulative mini AP test. Includes are the required computer-generated audio files for part A and optional computer-generated audio files for part B (to aid in class discussion after testing). Short score analysis from real literature is included in part B and is limited to the Unit 1 skill set. Each test item mimics released test items in formatting and wording for instructions.
