This is my full AP English Literature and Composition Syllabus / Course Audit that was recently updated and approved as of late 2021. I'm really proud of how I've shaped this class into a meaningful experience for my students. It's not just academically rigorous. The content of this class is meaningful and relevant to their lives!
The 11 pages of this document include my Course Description, Unit Structure and Rationale, and the Guiding Questions, Texts, Skills/Terms, and the major Assignments/Projects for each of my four thematic units. And, of course, everything is aligned with the College Board's Curricular Requirements and the "Big Ideas" of AP Literature. - "Literature and Culture" (main long texts - Life of Pi and The Poisonwood Bible)
- "Literature and Philosophy" (main long text - Hamlet)
- "Literature and Human Nature" (main long texts - The Good Earth and The Things They Carried)
- "Literature and Society" (main long texts - Selected dystopian novels)
