Calculus AB is part of the Straight Forward Math Series designed for students and teachers. The Calculus AB skills presented are those necessary in high school Advanced Placement.

The two volumes of Straight Forward Calculus AB are intended to cover all materials in a standard high school advanced placement Calculus AB course. The overall format of the books provides explanations of specific topics, followed by examples modeling the topics and exercises to reinforce proficiency of the presented topics. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with the material in the algebra, trigonometry, and pre-calculus skills.

Calculus AB includes the elements of differential and integral calculus of functions of a single variable, including standard applications such as optimization, related rates, volumes of solids of rotation, and separable differential equations. The rigorous theoretical foundations of calculus, such as delta-epsilon definition of limit, are not covered. Those more rigorous topics are left to Calculus BC.
