AB/BA patterns - printable worksheets + digital learning activities bundle

Patterning is one of the important early skills that welcomes children to the exciting beauty of math. Being a repeating arrangement of symbols, colors, sounds, actions patterns help children to understand sequencing and make predictions. Times tables, addition, skip counting and other more advanced math concepts require an understanding of and proficiency in patterning. In preschool and kindergarten, identifying and creating patterns introduces basic math and sets the foundation for learning more advanced math concepts later on.

The process of teaching patterning may be broken into three steps:

1. look around and notice patterns - in nature, everyday routines, music, architecture, seasons;

2. copy and create your own patterns;

3. read out a pattern once it is done so to notice if anything is misplaced or missing.

Once kids are aware of patterns they will begin to see and identify them everywhere.

This downloadable no prep learning activity bundle covers AB/BA patterns and offers two types of activities - printable worksheets and digital interactives.

Conventional worksheets are supported with animations and interactive games that can be played on any web-enabled device − computer, tablet, smartphone; no registration needed.

The bundle includes:

- 14 printable pages: 2 pages of an illustrated study guide with a supporting digital animation + 8 worksheets + 4 pages for a diy learning through play activity;

- 10 digital interactive games*. Do not print pages with digitals as the hyperlinks are everything you need. No registration required. Kids can play independently as many times as they want and check themselves with a build in self-checking results. To be taken to the digital content - click the clearly marked links and appointed pictures.

* The minimal time to play all games (pre-opened in individual browser tabs)  is 9 minutes 46 second if played by an adult with a master degree. Caregivers, rejoice: you have at least 600 seconds to enjoy your well-deserved me-time! 

Two sets of pictures - full color and black-and-white - are used in the set. It is easier for kids to grasp the concept of patterning with colored and then proceed with the outlined images.
