A Tisket A Tasket Carpet Time Song | Carpet Game Preschool | Kindergarten Names

This fun letters song (rhyme, poem) for carpet time is one of my students’ favorites! It works great for a friendship, kindness, community helpers, Valentine, or Easter thematic unit. This is a great activity for teaching students to read and recognize their names and the name of their friends. A black and white version is included so that students can create their own cards to sing this song at home. This is also a great activity for teaching students to recognize and name different colors.

To Prep:

Type in students names by clicking on the text box. You can change the size, font, and color of the text. To make a copy of a page, click on the slide preview and click ”duplicate slide.” If you copy and paste, it will look like a blank screen. Print, cut, and laminate letters and instructions. You will need to select “color” in the settings even if you are printing a black and white page. If you don’t do this, you will only see the text you typed.

To Play:

One student will hold the basket and can choose to walk around the carpet or hold the basket. This student will draw a letter from the basket and will drop it as the class sings. The student whose name is on the letter will have the next turn to hold the basket.

Sing as a class:

A tisket, a tasket, a green and yellow basket.
