A Practical Behavior Plan for Challenging Children

“A Practical Behavior Plan for Challenging Children” provides teachers a ready to implement behavior plan to use with children who may require individual intervention to demonstrate positive behavior in the classroom. While instructions are provided, this resource is flexible so that it can be easily adapted for use with a wide range of students.

It includes a daily behavior chart along with a strategy for implementing it which can assist students to learn and demonstrate three targeted classroom skills:
• I follow directions.
• I stay on task.
• I am polite to others.

A child-friendly survey is included to help teachers identify types of reinforcement which may help increase a student’s motivation to improve their behavior.

In addition to materials related to the daily behavior chart, visual supports as well as worksheets are included to help the teacher provide direct instruction in the behavior skills. Cloze, writing and drawing tasks are included for each classroom rule.
