There is a beautiful picture book titled "A Bear in War" that helps children to understand what war is, and why we remember on Remembrance Day. I used this picture book and converted it into a readers theater script to be used during our Remembrance Day service. This script is not completely in my own words as I did use the picture book. However, it is nicely arranged to allow students to present the book at an assembly or service. During our service I had made a PowerPoint presentation of the books pictures to go along with the readers theater presentation.
