Description

8TH GRADE STATE TESTING PREP PACKET: WHAT IS IT?

A 12 page packet that covers topics ranging from 6th-8th grade. This resource was designed to incorporate daily math practice for my students with IEP's.

The majority of the packet is 8th grade standards although there are several questions that are based off of 6th/7th grade standards. This has allowed my students to recall and practice old skills that they may need to apply during state testing.

What's included?

  • Packet cover (Students can color to personalize- if desired)
  • Reference sheet for formulas
  • Area included for student note taking
  • 12 pages & 60 + sections
  • Answer key

Examples of content covered: Pythagorean theorem, Parallel lines cut by a transversal, Two-step linear equations, Triangle sum theorem, Exterior triangle angle theorem, Adding/Subtracting integers, Rational vs Irrational Numbers, Two-way tables, Finding percentages of, Converting decimals to percentages, Proportional relationships, Scale factor, Coordinate plane, Finding slope of two points, Scatter plots, Writing linear equations, System of linear equations, Transformations, Square roots

Feel free to view the preview to see more specific example of some of the pages included and to get a general idea of the set up.

Verify experimentally the properties of rotations, reflections, and translations:
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.
Construct and interpret scatter plots for bivariate measurement data to investigate patterns of association between two quantities. Describe patterns such as clustering, outliers, positive or negative association, linear association, and nonlinear association.
Know that straight lines are widely used to model relationships between two quantitative variables. For scatter plots that suggest a linear association, informally fit a straight line, and informally assess the model fit by judging the closeness of the data points to the line.
